Global law firm White & Case LLP has advised UniCredit, one of Europe’s leading commercial banks, on the creation of a dedicated automotive bank in Russia in a joint-venture with auto manufacturers Renault and Nissan. The bank will offer a wide range of financial services to Renault, Nissan and Infiniti brand customers and dealers in Russia.
“Our ability to provide seamless and full-service English and Russian legal advice across multiple jurisdictions was again highlighted by this unique joint venture,” said White & Case partner Ashley Ballard. “We were pleased to be able to use that ability to assist UniCredit, a long-standing client of White & Case, to further develop its existing successful cooperation with the Renault and Nissan alliance.”
White & Case has advised UniCredit for more than 25 years. The White & Case team was led by London-based partner Ashley Ballard and Moscow-based partner Maya Melnikas and supported by associates Chris Wahlers in London and Anna Mokhova in Moscow.
Subject to regulatory approval, the joint venture will be operational in the fourth quarter of 2013.
