International Arbitration Partner Robert Pé Joins Gibson Dunn in Hong Kong

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that Robert Pé will join the firm’s Hong Kong office as a partner. Pé, formerly a partner with Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe in Hong Kong, will join the firm’s International Arbitration Practice Group.

“Robert is a strong addition to the firm,” said Ken Doran, Chairman and Managing Partner of Gibson Dunn. “We have continued to expand our Asia practices, and, with that growth, there is increased demand for disputes capability in the region. Robert’s reputation, long-standing presence in the market, experience and ability will enable us to take the next step in expanding our international arbitration capabilities in Asia.”

“With the recent growth in Asian economies, there is an increased number of high-value commercial and investment treaty disputes in, or originating, in Asia, and this has been reflected in the exponential growth in the number of arbitrations administered by Asian institutions, including the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC) and the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC),” said Cyrus Benson, London partner and Co-Chair of the firm’s International Arbitration Practice Group. “Adding to our disputes capability in Asia is a strategic goal of the firm, and Robert’s addition is a key step in our effort to expand our international arbitration capacity.”

“We are delighted to welcome Robert to the firm,” said Kelly Austin, Partner in Charge of Gibson Dunn’s Hong Kong office. “He is a leading disputes practitioner and has a proven track record of success for his clients. In addition to his international arbitration practice, he is experienced in commercial litigation and regulatory investigations. Gibson Dunn is one of the premier litigation firms in the world, and we regularly represent Asian and other clients in court actions, arbitrations and other forums in connection with matters of the highest significance. Robert’s arrival will complement our current Asia disputes practice and will expand our platform and increase our visibility in the region.”

“I am looking forward to this next chapter in my career,” Pé said. “Gibson Dunn has a stellar reputation across all of its practice areas, and I look forward to working with my new colleagues to advocate for our clients in the major arbitration forums around the world.”
