We are pleased to announce that we have grown our international insurance capability with the hire of partner Ben Nicholson to our Singapore office.
Ben, who spent a decade in London advising on claims and disputes arising from the Asia Pacific region, relocated to Singapore in 2011 to set-up DAC Beachcroft’s presence in Asia. He advises on all aspects of insurance and reinsurance law, with particular expertise in property, energy, construction and engineering, and infrastructure risks.
With considerable experience advising on large, complex claims resulting from natural disasters, power losses, construction all risk, commercial product liability, professional and financial lines, Ben advises a wide range of international insurers and reinsurers.
This latest appointment comes shortly after we strengthened our market position in Singapore by entering into a joint venture agreement with Singapore firm, Legal Solutions LLC. The venture has widened the scope of services offered to clients, including providing litigation services as well as healthcare, employment, regulatory and corporate insurance advice.
Our Singapore office now operates under the name Kennedys Legal Solutions and has a team of 34 lawyers.
Nick Thomas, senior partner at Kennedys, says:
“Growing our offering in Singapore is an important component of our overall international expansion strategy. Ben brings valuable expertise advising on insurance matters in the Asia-Pacific region and strengthens our offering to our global insurance client base.”
Ben Nicholson says:
“I’m delighted to be joining Kennedys. The firm has a very strong reputation in Singapore and throughout Asia-Pacific with strong roots in the region through its offices in Hong Kong, Sydney and Auckland. Its significant London Market presence and client synergies compliment my experience making it the ideal platform for me.”
