Bird & Bird strengthens its TMT practice with the appointment of Michelle Chan in Hong Kong

Bird & Bird is delighted to announce that it has appointed Michelle Chan as a partner in its office in Hong Kong. Michelle was previously partner at Herbert Smith Freehills where she headed up their Asia TMT team.

Michelle has practiced in Hong Kong since 1997, focussing on technology, media and telecoms work since 1999. Her clients include regional and international operators and multi-national clients.

Michelle has extensive experience in regional TMT issues and is consistently ranked as one of the top TMT lawyers in the Asia region by leading legal directories International Who’s Who Legal, Chambers Asia-Pacific and Legal 500 Asia Pacific. She also has considerable experience in advising clients on data protection issues and non-contentious IP projects. Michelle also worked as in-house legal counsel whilst on secondment to Alcatel-Lucent in Shanghai from 2003 to 2004.

Michelle is dual qualified as a Solicitor in England & Wales and Hong Kong, with complete fluency in English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
