Bird & Bird is pleased to announce the appointment of Ying Wang as a partner in its International HR Services Group in Shanghai, and where she will head its Employment practice for China.
Ying has built a strong track record in advising both international and local clients on contentious and non-contentious employment issues.
She has more than 13 years’ experience across the full range of employment issues, including various PRC labour and social insurance regulatory matters, mass layoffs, labor disputes, M&A-related matters, cross-boader employment, and daily coporate labor issues. In addition, Ying was appointed as a Part-time Arbitrator of the Shanghai Labour Dispute Arbitration Committee in September 2004 where she advises on labour arbitration and litigation.
Ying’s clients include multinational companies and Fortune 500 companies in various industries such as commercial banking, investment banking, FMCG, retail, luxury, IT and automobile. Ying also advises start-up companies and newly-established Foreign Invested Enterprises (FIEs), including M&A and restructures.
Admitted as a solicitor in China in 2007, Ying holds an LL.B from Fudan University Law School, Shanghai, and a Bachelor of Economics with Distinction from Nanjing University of Economics. She is also a member of Shanghai Labour Law Association.

Ying will work closely with Singapore partner Susan de Silva who heads Bird & Bird’s Employment practice for the Asia Pacific region. In addition, Ying will also work alongside corporate partners Sven-Michael Werner in Shanghai and Padraig Walsh and TMT partner Michelle Chan in Hong Kong.
