Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that Sébastien Evrard will join the firm’s Hong Kong office as a partner. Previously with Jones Day, Evrard will continue his antitrust and competition practice.

About Sébastien Evrard
Evrard’s practice covers the full spectrum of inbound and outbound competition work in Asia and the European Union, including merger control and abuse of dominance and cartels, antitrust-related investigations and litigation matters, and counseling and compliance work. He has substantial experience in the antitrust aspects of intellectual property rights. He has represented companies in aviation, automotive, telecommunications, media and entertainment, technology, and oil and gas industries.
He is co-author of Anti-Monopoly Law and Practice (Oxford University Press, 2011), the leading English-language treatise on China’s competition law, and Competition Law in China: Laws, Regulations, and Cases (Oxford University Press, 2014). He is recognized by Chambers & Partners as a leading lawyer for Competition/Antitrust for International Firms in China.
Evrard started practicing in Brussels in 1996 and joined Jones Day in 2003, where he practiced in the Brussels, Beijing and Hong Kong offices. He is admitted in Brussels and as a solicitor of the High Court of Hong Kong.
He received his law degree in 1995 from the Katholieke Universiteit Leuven in Belgium, where he was a member of the editorial board of the law review. He received his LL.M. in 2003 from Columbia University, where he was named a James Kent Scholar and received the Walter Gellhorn prize as the valedictorian of his class.
