Competition Partner Sébastien Evrard Joins Gibson Dunn in Hong Kong

Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP is pleased to announce that Sébastien Evrard will join the firm’s Hong Kong office as a partner. Previously with Jones Day, Evrard will continue his antitrust and competition practice.

“We welcome Sébastien to the firm,” said Ken Doran, Chairman and Managing Partner of Gibson Dunn. “Sébastien is a recognized leader among Asian antitrust practitioners, who has handled the full spectrum of antitrust work, including mergers and acquisitions, government investigations of cartel and single-firm conduct, and antitrust counseling. His addition will better position the firm to assist clients with their global competition needs.”

“Sébastien’s dual expertise in Asian and European competition law is extremely valuable to clients, particularly when conduct or a transaction is being investigated by authorities on both continents,” said Kelly Austin, Partner in Charge of the firm’s Hong Kong office. “His competition experience will strengthen our existing market-leading investigations practice and enhance our transactional offering in the region.”

“The rapid emergence of Chinese competition enforcement, Hong Kong’s new competition law, and cross-border enforcement across the region has made antitrust regulation a key consideration for firms doing business in Asia,” said Dan Swanson, Co-Chair of the firm’s Antitrust and Competition Practice Group. “Having Sébastien on our team will strengthen our existing government investigations and enforcement practice and allow us to provide seamless coverage, true regional expertise and on-the-ground responsiveness for our clients.”

“I am honored to join Gibson Dunn’s world-renowned antitrust and competition practice and bring added depth in Asia to the firm’s impressive roster of highly experienced antitrust practitioners globally,” said Evrard.
