Dechert Expands in Moscow with Hire of Corporate Partner Igor Panshensky

International law firm Dechert LLP announced today that Igor has joined the firm’s corporate and securities group as a partner in Moscow. He was previously a partner at DLA Piper.

Panshensky is a corporate and commercial lawyer with substantial experience advising on mergers and acquisitions, corporate structuring, distribution and sales agreements and competition/antitrust issues. Clients served by Panshensky include large multinational companies as well as leading Russian industrial companies and financial institutions. He also has extensive experience in the oil and gas sector.

Panshensky is a graduate of Harvard University School of Law (LL.M., 1995), Temple University School of Law (LL.M., 1993) and Moscow State Institute of International Relations (Law degree, 1990).

Said Panshensky: “I am very excited to be joining Dechert’s dynamic Moscow office, and I believe the firm offers a strong global platform for my existing clients and the resources to expand my practice. I also look forward to working with the corporate team in the Moscow office, which has an excellent reputation in the Russian market as one of the best corporate groups.”

Panshensky is ranked as a leading lawyer in Russia for both corporate/M&A and energy matters by Chambers Global 2010, where he is hailed as an “accomplished academic and practical corporate and energy lawyer, whose know-how wins favour with multinational clients.” He is also acknowledged as a leading competition/antitrust lawyer by Chambers Europe 2010.

Said Laura Brank, head of Dechert’s Russia and CIS practice: “Igor is a very talented and highly respected lawyer whose expertise, developed over the past 20 years in corporate and competition matters, will strongly enhance our ability to service clients on a full range of complex legal matters in Russia. I am confident that he will be a strong addition to our Russia practice and I’m delighted to welcome him to Dechert.”

Panshensky is the latest in a series of partner additions to Dechert’s growing Moscow office. Most recently, the firm announced that Ivan Marisin, a top-ranked litigator and arbitrator and the former head of Clifford Chance’s Russian dispute resolution practice, had joined the firm’s Russia and CIS practice. Marisin joined Dechert in May together with a team of lawyers.
