Simpson Thacher Represents Barclays Capital, BofA Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs, Morgan Stanley and Daewoo Securities in US$700 Million Debt Offering by Korea Electric Power Corporation

The Firm recently acted as the transaction counsel for the issuance by Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) of US$700,000,000 3.00% Senior Notes due 2015, where Barclays Capital, BofA Merrill Lynch, Credit Suisse, Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley acted as joint bookrunners and joint lead managers and Daewoo Securities acted as a joint lead manager. The notes were issued under KEPCO’s US$3 billion global medium term notes program in reliance upon Rule 144A and Regulation S under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended.

KEPCO is a government-controlled electricity generator and distributor based in Korea. KEPCO’s common shares are listed on the Korea Exchange and its American depositary shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
