Kim Tung Joins Pillsbury’s China Team in Shanghai

Kim Tung has joined Pillsbury’s China Practice as counsel in the firm’s Shanghai office. An experienced advisor to companies in China’s expanding markets; Tung will focus on private equity, venture capital and emerging growth clients, as well as take a key role in the firm’s ongoing capital markets and corporate transactional practice in China.

Shoesmith, head of Pillsbury’s China Practice. “Adding Kim to our team in China expands our ability to bring that experience base and market knowledge more effectively to companies and investors who continue to see China as one of the most important growth markets in the world.” Shoesmith adds that Kim’s personal connections in the venture capital community and his enthusiasm for working with China-focused entrepreneurs and venture capitalists will complement the other key components of the firm’s China practice.

Tung joins Pillsbury from Troutman Sanders, where he worked closely with clients including Fortune 500 and PRC corporations on financial issues including investment and acquisitions, bankruptcy, litigation and corporate reorganization. He is admitted to The State Bar of California and holds a J.D. from the University of California, Hastings College of the Law, as well as a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley. Tung serves as vice chair of the Shanghai American Chamber of Commerce’s Real Estate Committee, among other association posts, and is fluent in English and Mandarin.
