Singapore provides a gateway to other rapidly growing economies such as Indonesia and India, and as cross border M&A deal activity in the region increases, we are keen to position ourselves to take advantage of an upturn in demand for corporate legal services.

“We have been looking for some time to find the right person to spearhead our corporate practice in South East Asia. In Biswajit we have found an individual with exactly the right blend of ambition and experience to develop our services in this field and we are very pleased to welcome him and our other senior lawyers Roy and Sabyasachi to the firm.”

“Biswajit will provide an additional India-outbound dimension to our corporate practice, as well as adding a US securities law and capital markets capability in Singapore that complements our thriving Hong Kong capital markets practice,” commented Stephen Chelberg, Asia Pacific Chair of the Global Corporate Practice.

Mr. Chatterjee’s appointment follows Squire Patton Boggs’ combination with Mamiya Law Offices, a Tokyo-based corporate and transactional practice, which was announced in July, and its strategic alliance with leading Indonesian law firm Melli Darsa & Co. in Jakarta in November 2013.
