Lewis Ho Joins Dechert’s Hong Kong Corporate Practice

Dechert LLP announced today that Lewis Ho has joined the firm’s Hong Kong office as a partner in the Corporate and Securities practice. Ho was most recently a resident partner in the Beijing office at Simmons & Simmons LLP.

Ho advises clients in the life sciences, technology, media and telecommunications sectors on patent litigation, technology transfers and commercial intellectual property matters.

Ho has represented international pharmaceutical companies including GlaxoSmithKline and Novartis in establishing research and development centers, as well as in negotiating more than 40 collaboration, outsourcing, joint venture and licensing deals with various life sciences companies, academic institutes, hospitals and contract research organizations.

Ho has been recognized by Chambers Asia and The Legal 500 Asia as one of China’s best regarded lawyers for life sciences and intellectual property, and was also included in Intellectual Asset Management magazine’s 2012 list “The World’s Leading Patent Practitioners 1000 – recommended in both licensing and litigation sections” and “Life Sciences 250 —The World’s Leading Life Sciences Patent Litigators”.

A graduate of University of Hong Kong (LLB) and Shanghai Jiatong University (Certificate on PRC Law), Ho is also an honorary legal adviser to Hong Kong Association of the Pharmaceutical Industry (HKAPI), and served as Vice Chairman of the IP Working Group of the European Union Chamber of Commerce in China (Shanghai Chapter) from 2009-2011. He is fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese.
