Weil Adds Private Equity Partner Tim Gardner in Hong Kong

International law firm Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP announced today that Tim Gardner has joined the Firm’s Hong Kong office as a partner. He has wide-ranging experience advising both local and international clients in complex private equity and M&A transactions.

“Tim has been practicing in Asia for nearly 10 years,” said Weil Executive Partner Barry Wolf. “He has advised some of the world’s most prominent and widely-known private equity and global asset management firms and will be a great addition to our top-ranked global private equity practice.”

Akiko Mikumo, Weil’s Asia Managing Partner, commented: “In addition to his deep experience in Asia, Tim brings investment banking experience in M&A from early in his career. He will strengthen our service offerings to clients in Asia and expand our ability to provide best-in-class transaction counseling throughout the region.”

Mr. Gardner, 46, joins Weil from the Hong Kong office of Latham & Watkins LLP, where he was a partner. Prior to joining Latham in 2006, he worked as an investment banking associate and then vice president in the Financial Institutions Group of Goldman Sachs in New York, where he specialized in M&A.

“I am excited to join Weil’s prestigious transactional practice in Asia and look forward to drawing on my expertise to help further grow the practice and provide the Firm’s clients with the best possible legal advice on their most complex and challenging matters,” said Mr. Gardner.
