Workplace Relations Expert Joins Corrs

John Tuck has joined Corrs as a partner in its Melbourne office. The appointment reinforces Corrs’ commitment to maintaining a market-leading national workplace relations practice.

John is recognised as one of Australia’s leading practitioners in industrial relations, employment and safety. He joins Corrs from DLA Phillips Fox, where he led the Workplace Relations and Employment Law team. John was previously with Freehills as a Workplace Relations partner.

John provides strategic advice dealing with all aspects of workplace relations. He also provides specialist advocacy services having appeared as counsel in a number of significant industrial cases for major corporations and the Commonwealth Government.

John advises on:

  • Industrial relations, workplace agreement making and bargaining, employment strategies, industrial relations planning for major infrastructure and building projects and managing industrial disputation. John recently developed the industrial relations plan for Esso’s $3.5 billion expansion at the Kipper Tuna Turrum oil and gas field in Bass Strait;
  • Executive and general employment contracts, post-employment restraints and employment policies and practices; and
  • Occupational health and safety laws, managing workplace incidents and prosecutions for alleged breaches of safety laws.

John has extensive experience acting for major employers in a diverse range of industries such as mining and resources, oil and gas, building and construction, maritime and stevedoring, beverages, retail, manufacturing, emergency services and banking.

His clients have included Foster’s Group, ANZ, BHP Billiton, Rio Tinto, United Group, WorleyParsons, Cadbury, and Victoria Police.
