Trelleborg has acquired an operation in Xingtai (Hebei) to facilitate the Group’s expansion in the Chinese market for specialty tires, primarily agricultural tires. The facility was acquired from a Chinese company, part of the US Group Main Industrial Tire LLC. Through this acquisition, Trelleborg will also take over approximately 180 employees and become the first manufacturer of agricultural tires from the West to have its own production in China.
Trelleborg is a global industrial group with annual sales in 2010 of approximately SEK 27 billion. The Trelleborg share is listed on NASDAQ OMX Stockholm.
Trelleborg was advised by Mannheimer Swartling on the transaction. The firm’s team in China was led by Peter Idsäter, primarily assisted by Andreas Elving, Chris Yu, Åsa Jansson and Sabrina Wang.
