Hogan Lovells Announces New Singapore Office Managing Partner

International law firm Hogan Lovells is pleased to announce that from 1 July corporate partner Stephanie Keen will be taking on the role of Singapore Office Managing Partner. She will be taking over from James Harris who has managed the office for the last 11 years.

Patrick Sherrington, Asia Regional Managing Partner, said:

As a gateway to South East Asia our Singapore office is pivotal to Hogan Lovells, particularly in supporting our strategy for expansion in Asia. James’ leadership and vision over the last 11 years has been inspiring and he has significantly grown the office and firmly established a reputation for us as a leading firm in the area.”

Stephanie Keen currently leads the Singapore corporate and private equity practice. Stephanie moved to Singapore five years ago and is one of only a few international lawyers qualified to practice Singapore law, demonstrating her commitment to the region. She added:

The Singapore office has been involved in a number of significant projects in the last year, including advising on JTC Corporation’s US$890 million Jurong Rock Caverns development, which was South East Asia’s first subterranean hydrocarbon storage facility and advising Trafigura Pte Ltd on its equity investment in Nagarjuna Oil Corporation Limited, an Indian refinery project, which was nominated for IFLR Asia Awardsʼ M&A Deal of the Year 2013.

We are a leading firm for corporate, finance, energy, international arbitration, projects and infrastructure matters and I look forward to building on this reputation with James and the other partners in the office.”

This year the office has continued to expand with the recruitment of partner Andy Ferris from Allen & Overy into the international debt capital markets (IDCM) team and partner Maurice Burke from Herbert Smith Freehills to lead the Litigation and Arbitration practice in Southeast Asia. These hires follow the recruitment of partner Alexander McMyn from Linklaters Singapore into the debt and leverage finance team.

James Harris will remain in the Singapore office and from 1 July he will become Asia regional head of Infrastructure, Energy, Resources and Projects (IERP) practice and take on a new role of Global Head of Infrastructure for the firm.
