This new affiliation, Nixon Peabody in association with Cheng Wong Lam & Partners, will provide clients with expanded legal services in Asia. An independent law firm founded in 2002, Cheng Wong Lam & Partners provides a full range of legal solutions in Hong Kong and advises clients on matters including inbound and outbound investments, transactions, and legal disputes involving Mainland China.

With our new Hong Kong office, we are expanding our capabilities to handle the most sophisticated inbound and outbound transactions across Asia.”

Hong Kong is Nixon Peabody’s second office in Asia. The firm currently has an office in Shanghai, China, and entered the China market in 2008. “Having a strong footprint in China is a critical factor in helping our clients achieve their strategic business goals,” said David Cheng, chair of Nixon Peabody’s China practice and a Hong Kong native. “In working with Cheng Wong Lam & Partners, we can provide enhanced legal capabilities to our U.S. and European-based clients as they navigate the complexities of doing business in China, as well as guide our Chinese-based clients who want to invest and expand their businesses beyond the Asia-Pacific region.” Mr. Cheng will split his time between Nixon Peabody’s Hong Kong and Shanghai offices.
