On 20 May 2010 in Yekaterinburg, international law firm Salans and law firm ENSO signed a regional cooperation agreement. The alliance will focus primarily on legal assistance to Russian and foreign investors in the Urals Federal District and work with the regional administration on infrastructure projects.
Salans and ENSO will work together on investment projects in the Urals region and on Urals-based investors’ projects outside the region.
This is the first alliance between an international and a Russian law firm in the Urals Federal District. Both companies will remain independent.
The firms will provide legal support jointly to major investment projects in natural resources, transportation infrastructure (PPP), property development, and construction.
Glenn Kolleeny, a senior partner, member of Salans’ Global Board, and head of the firm’s Russian regional practice, states: “We regard the Urals District as the most important region of Russia. The concentration of natural resources and industry have enabled the region to develop very quickly. ENSO is a fast-growing firm with a team of professionals and an excellent partner for transferring international experience to the Urals District.”
