DaHui is pleased to announce that Liu Tian and Patrick Gu have joined the firm as partners in the corporate and employment law teams, respectively.
Educated in both China and the United States, Tian is qualified as a lawyer in New York State and the PRC. Her practice focuses on the energy and energy-related equipment manufacturing sectors, specifically advising multi-national companies on inbound and outbound mergers and acquisitions, green-field investment and the development of large-scale oil, gas and petrochemical projects in China. In addition, Tian has experience in advising VC and PE funds on fund investment issues, as well as advising companies, including start-up and pre-IPO stage companies, on their fundraising activities.
“I am very pleased to join this prestigious firm as a partner,” said Liu Tian. “This is a firm with committed and visionary partners who have great expertise in their practice areas and a deep knowledge of the Chinese and international legal markets. I am eager to provide my expertise, along with my partners’, to my clients and I’m confident that my experience will contribute to this growing firm.”
With over 16 years of experience, Patrick has a rich mix of in-depth labor law knowledge and extensive human resources related expertise accumulated from working with the labor arbitration tribunal, top-tier foreign and local Chinese law firms and Fortune 500 companies. Patrick previously worked at the Shanghai Municipal Labor Arbitration Commission as a labor dispute arbitrator and was responsible for lawmaking at the Shanghai local labor authority.
Of his joining, Patrick said, “It is my honor to join such a dynamic and fast-expanding firm as partner. Under the extremely complicated labor relations climate in China, labor and employment legal services must be taken into deep consideration if companies want to see healthy, long-term development. Along with my partners, I will dedicate my efforts to providing one-stop and first-class legal service for our clients.
Richard Ma, Managing Partner of DaHui, said, “Tian and Patrick’s joining is a proud moment for this firm, and we are extremely pleased to add their significant talents to our dynamic corporate and employment law practices. Their deep knowledge, stemming from firm, in-house, and regulatory experiences, will enable us to build upon the firm’s strong reputation and expand the breadth of service that we provide to our clients in China and internationally.”
