Freshfields Advises China CITIC Bank on US$4bn Rights Issue

International law firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has advised China CITIC Bank Corporation Limited on its US$4 billion A and H-share rights issue. Freshfields global capital markets team has advised on four of the six major PRC bank rights issues.

CITIC Bank priced the rights issue of Shanghai-listed A shares at RMB3.33 each and HK$4.01 each for Hong Kong-listed H shares. The proceeds will be used to strengthen its capital base.

The Freshfields global capital markets team was led by partner Calvin Lai and counsel Richard Wang. The deal team included associates Allan Yee, Kelly Zhao, Shuekai Liang and Can Yin as well as international legal consultants Donghao Cui and Wei Liu.

China International Capital Corporation and CITIC Securities are the joint global coordinators, the joint bookrunners and the joint lead underwriters.
