Former Chief Legal Officer of the Al-Jazeera television network, Osama Abu-Dehays, has joined the International Media and Sports sector of Bird & Bird in Qatar. His responsibilities will cover the Middle Eastern and North African regions.
Patton Boggs announced a significant expansion of their Riyadh, Saudi Arabia office. The firm has recruited eight lateral hires from Dewey. A group of five attorneys, led by Kahlid Al-Thebity will practice out of the firm’s Riyadh office. Two other attorneys from Dewey will practice out of Patton Boggs’ DC office and one out of New York.
Marc Sukkar, a partner, has joined Holland & Knight’s Abu Dhabi office. Mr. Sukkar was previously the senior counsel to Mshreireb Properties. His practice focuses on construction law, energy, and dispute resolution. Nijoe Joseph has also joined the firm as an associate–most recently he was a legal advisor for the Abu Dhabi Department of Transport.
